Australian National Maritime Museum

The Australian National Maritime Museum is recognizable by its sweeping, white roof that mimics the form of billowing sails. Located on the edge of Darling Harbour in Sydney, the building was designed by architect Philip Cox and opened in nineteen ninety-one as part of a broader plan to redevelop the area. It occupies land traditionally owned by the Gadigal people, a site known as Pirrama, or the place of singing stones.
