Walsh Bay Arts Precinct

The Walsh Bay Arts Precinct is defined by its series of long, industrial timber finger wharves that jut out directly into Sydney Harbour. These structures were built between nineteen twelve and nineteen twenty-two as part of a massive infrastructure project to modernize the port for steamships. Designed by the Sydney Harbour Trust's engineer-in-chief, Henry Deane Walsh, the precinct features rat-proof seawalls and large, cavernous wharf sheds that were once filled with wool and cargo.
