Cairns Wharf Complex

The Cairns Wharf Complex is defined by its long, low sheds clad in corrugated iron, which sit atop one of the earliest examples of reinforced concrete wharf construction in Australia. Built between nineteen ten and nineteen forty-eight, this collection of maritime structures along Wharf Street includes surviving cargo sheds, railway tracks, and a prominent clock tower that has watched over the waterfront since nineteen forty-eight.
