Hides Hotel Cairns

Hides Hotel at eighty-seven Lake Street is recognizable by the words HIDES CAIRNS HOTEL displayed in large letters along its parapet. This three-story reinforced concrete building was designed by architect Sydenham Stanley Oxenham and constructed in two stages, beginning in nineteen twenty-eight. At the time of its completion, it stood as one of only two three-story buildings in the city.
