The Chambers is a building easily identified by its federation-style columns and arched exterior, which stand out against the surrounding streetscape of Cairns City. Originally constructed in nineteen twenty-six to serve as a branch of the National Bank of Australasia, the structure was known for many years as Earl Court. The design came from Brisbane architect Lange Powell in a partnership with Richard Hill from Mareeba.
