Saint Monica's Cathedral

Saint Monica's Cathedral on Abbott Street is a modernist structure defined by its reinforced concrete arches and extensive stained glass. Constructed between nineteen sixty-seven and nineteen sixty-eight, the building was designed by Brisbane architect Ian Ferrier to reflect the liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council, which favored simpler, more participatory worship spaces.
