The Adelaide Steamship Company building sits on the corner of Lake and Spence Streets as a single-story masonry structure defined by its corrugated iron roof, curved metal brackets, and tapering piers topped with spheres. Built in nineteen ten by contractors Wilson and Baillie, the office was designed in an Arts and Crafts style modified for the tropical climate of Far North Queensland.
