Eagle House, located at four hundred seventy-three Bourke Street, is defined by a taut, flush skin of green-tinted glass and natural-finished aluminium. Completed in nineteen seventy-two, this twelve-story office tower was designed by the firm Yuncken Freeman as the headquarters for the Australian branch of the Eagle Star Insurance Company. At the time of its construction, the building was celebrated for its elegant, minimalist aesthetic, winning an Award of Merit from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects the same year it opened.
