Arts Centre Melbourne

Arts Centre Melbourne is distinguished by a towering steel spire that rises one hundred and sixty-two meters above the Southbank arts precinct. Designed by architect Sir Roy Grounds, the structure features a distinctive open-lattice design inspired by the billowing folds of a ballerina’s tutu. It occupies a site along the Yarra River that previously served as a home for traveling circuses and amusement parks throughout the early twentieth century.
