Building twenty at RMIT University, located on the corner of La Trobe and Russell streets, is the former Melbourne Magistrates' Court. Completed in nineteen fourteen, the building is designed in a French Romanesque style, characterized by its substantial stone facade and grand sense of scale. For eighty-one years, it served as the center for city and district legal proceedings, housing eleven courtrooms at its peak before the court relocated in nineteen ninety-five.
