Fed Square

Fed Square is recognizable by its jarring, geometric facade of zinc, sandstone, and glass, which forms a series of interlocking, irregular structures across a city block. It sits directly opposite the ornate, copper-domed Flinders Street Station and was built to bridge the gap between Melbourne’s historical center and the Yarra River. Since its opening in two thousand two, the precinct has served as a central hub for civic life, featuring a massive public screen that broadcasts major sporting and cultural events to crowds gathering on the plaza.
