The Conservatory

The Conservatory stands out in the Fitzroy Gardens for its distinctive Spanish Mission architectural style, a departure from the surrounding greenery. Opened on March thirteen, nineteen thirty, the building measures thirty by fifteen meters and was constructed for four thousand pounds. It emerged from a period during the nineteen twenties when the City of Melbourne focused on adding new facilities to the gardens, with the project championed by the committee chairman, Councillor Kent Hughes.
