St. Patrick's Island

St. Patrick's Island is identified by The Rise, a grassy knoll reaching nine meters high that sits at the center of this thirty-one-acre park. Located at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers, the island has served various roles since Calgary’s earliest days. In the late eighteen hundreds, it was an open space for public use, later transitioning into a campground and eventually a place that saw little activity for decades.
