The Museo del Sonido occupies a restored manor house at the corner of Huérfanos and Esperanza streets in the historic Barrio Yungay. Built in nineteen twenty-two for the family of Pedro Préndez Saldías, the residence now houses a specialized collection dedicated to the history of musical recording and reproduction. The structure stands out for its preserved early twentieth-century domestic architecture, which provides the setting for a modern museum focused on the technological evolution of sound.
