The Montée du Gourguillon is a steep, cobbled street that has climbed the slopes of Fourvière Hill for two thousand years. It is easily identified by its rough stone surface and the medieval houses that line its path, some featuring rare wooden galleries hidden within the small passage of the Impasse Turquet. Historically, this route served as the primary link between the Gallo-Roman city on the heights of Fourvière and the riverbank settlements along the Saône.
