Fresco "The library of the city"

The mural known as the Library of the City, or La Bibliothèque de la Cité, covers the exterior wall of a building at the corner of Rue de la Platière and Quai de la Pêcherie. You can identify it by its massive trompe-l'œil design, which transforms the side of the structure into a towering, multi-story library filled with rows of bookshelves. Painted in nineteen ninety-eight by the local artist cooperative CitéCréation, the work serves as a visual celebration of Lyon's deep literary history.
