Place du Général Gouraud

landmark

The Place du Général Gouraud serves as a crossroads in Neuilly-sur-Seine where the rue du Château meets the avenue Achille-Peretti and several smaller streets. Once known as the Place du Château, this space takes its current name from the French army general Henri Gouraud. He was a prominent military figure who served as the High Commissioner of France in the Levant between nineteen nineteen and nineteen twenty-two, and later as the Military Governor of Paris from nineteen twenty-three to nineteen thirty-seven.
