Île de la Jatte

natural

The Île de la Jatte is a thin, two-kilometer-long island stretching through the Seine between the towns of Neuilly-sur-Seine and Levallois-Perret. During the eighteen eighties, the island became a favorite destination for Parisians who traveled by train to spend their Sundays boating, fishing, and picnicking in what was then a rustic retreat from the city.
