Ancien hôtel Lambiotte

landmark

The Ancien hôtel Lambiotte features a distinct Z-shaped plan and exterior walls finished in white cement, mixed with granules of Carrara marble. Built between nineteen thirty-one and nineteen thirty-six, the private mansion was designed by the architect Pierre Barbe for Jean Lambiotte, a chemist and industrialist. Barbe, who was a member of the Union of Modern Artists and a close associate of figures like Le Corbusier, earned a silver medal for the project, which drew widespread attention in architectural publications of the nineteen thirties.
