landmark

The stone statue of Jean-Rodolphe Perronet stands on the northeast corner of the Île de Puteaux, positioned at the foot of the Pont de Neuilly. This monument honors the engineer who designed the first stone bridge at this crossing, which opened for traffic in seventeen seventy-two. Perronet, who served as the first director of the École des Ponts et Chaussées, was a central figure in eighteenth-century French infrastructure and is often remembered as a pioneer of the low-arch stone bridge.
