Cimetière militaire 14-18 de pantin

historic

The military section of the Pantin cemetery is marked by its rows of formal grave markers, which distinguish the resting places of soldiers from the surrounding plots of the larger city-owned burial ground. Established in eighteen eighty-six, the site spans over one hundred hectares and includes dedicated zones for those who served in the First World War. Among these are the French military squares and a smaller plot designated for ninety-three Commonwealth servicemen, many of whom died in nearby military hospitals after being evacuated from the Western Front.
