The Écluse du Pont de Flandre is the first lock on the Canal Saint-Denis, identifiable by its two parallel chambers that handle a significant ten-meter change in water level. Built between eighteen ninety-one and eighteen ninety-two, it replaced four smaller locks to help barges navigate the canal more efficiently.
