The Passage de la Main d’Or is a narrow, two-hundred-and-fifty-meter-long walkway connecting the Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine to the Rue de Charonne. Unlike the glass-roofed arcades found in other parts of Paris, this is an open-air cobblestone path defined by its history as a hub for local trades. Its name, meaning Golden Hand, honors the skilled furniture makers, bronze casters, and metalworkers who once filled the surrounding workshops and courtyards.
