Les Olympiades

Les Olympiades is a cluster of a dozen concrete residential towers in the thirteenth arrondissement, rising from a massive pedestrian esplanade elevated eight meters above street level. Constructed between nineteen sixty-nine and nineteen seventy-seven, the complex was designed by architect Michel Holley to be a city within a city, intended to draw young professionals into a modern, vertical neighborhood. The eight tallest towers are named for cities that hosted the Olympic Games, including Mexico, Sapporo, and Tokyo, which provided the inspiration for the district's name.
