The Pavillon Suisse rises above the Cité Internationale Universitaire on massive concrete pilotis, lifting a four-story steel-framed slab of student rooms clear off the ground. Designed by Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret, the building was completed in nineteen thirty-three to provide housing for Swiss students. It sits at the edge of the campus, anchored nineteen meters down into a former quarry to support its weight.
