Place d’Italie is a vast, circular transit hub where the main boulevards of the thirteenth arrondissement collide. You can distinguish the square by its intense convergence of traffic and the towering presence of the Italie Deux shopping mall, which anchors the modern side of the intersection. Before it became this central point of circulation, the area was rural farmland known as the field of flowers.
