The Giacometti Institute occupies a private mansion built between nineteen twelve and nineteen fourteen, easily identified by the delicate Art Deco and Art Nouveau styling of its original architecture. Located at five rue Victor Schoelcher in the Montparnasse district, the building once served as the home and studio of the interior designer Paul Follot. It now holds the world’s largest collection of works by the Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti, who spent most of his career working in this very neighborhood.
