Saint-Joseph-des-Carmes

The Church of Saint-Joseph-des-Carmes features a distinctive dome that was the first of its kind in Paris, built in the Italian Baroque style between sixteen thirteen and sixteen twenty. Today, the church is part of the Catholic Institute of Paris, but its history reaches back to a reform movement led by Saint Teresa of Ávila. Queen Marie de Médicis laid the first stone, and the building was consecrated in sixteen twenty-five.
