Hôtel de Chevreuse

The Hôtel de Chevreuse was once a grand aristocratic townhouse that stood near thirty-three Rue Saint-Dominique in the seventh arrondissement. Built in sixteen sixty for the influential Marie de Rohan, Duchess of Chevreuse, the mansion featured a design by the architect Pierre Le Muet. It followed the classic French style of a residence positioned between a private courtyard and a garden, serving as a center of social and political life for the Duchess and her descendants, the Dukes of Luynes.
