L'Olympia

L'Olympia is identified on the Boulevard des Capucines by a marquee featuring giant, crimson-red letters that are still changed by hand before every performance. Inaugurated in eighteen ninety-three by Joseph Oller, the co-creator of the Moulin Rouge, this venue remains the oldest music hall in Paris. It began as a stage for can-can dancers and acrobats during the Belle Époque, though it eventually transitioned through stints as a cinema and a military requisition space before its legendary revival in nineteen fifty-four.
