Fondation Custodia

The Fondation Custodia is housed within the Hôtel Turgot, an eighteenth-century mansion at number one hundred twenty-one rue de Lille. This building stands out as the only survivor of seven houses originally commissioned in seventeen forty-two by the property developer Pierre Salles. The foundation takes its name from the Latin word for safekeeping, reflecting the mission of its founder, the Dutch collector Frits Lugt.
