Hôtel de Maisons

The Hôtel de Maisons is distinguished by a monumental stone carriage gate that opens onto the fifty-one rue de l'Université. This eighteenth-century private mansion was built in seventeen oh six under the direction of the architect Pierre Cailleteau, known as Lassurance, as part of a speculative land development project by the council president François Duret. The site occupies land once known as the Pré-aux-Clercs and follows a design intended to sit between an entrance courtyard and a garden.
