Place Cheikha Remitti

The Place Cheikha Remitti is a triangular public square tucked between the rue de la Goutte d’Or and the rue Polonceau. Characterized by a cluster of seven plane trees, this small space serves as a focal point in the Goutte d’Or neighborhood. It was formally named in November two thousand nineteen to honor Cheikha Remitti, the Algerian musician often called the grandmother of raï music.
