Square d'Orléans

Square d'Orléans is defined by its quiet, private courtyard surrounded by buildings with facades decorated by Ionic half-columns. Built in eighteen twenty-nine by the English architect Edward Cresy, this residential square brought a London-inspired design to the ninth arrondissement. It was originally constructed on land owned by the family of the musician Daniel Auber and later purchased by the actress Mademoiselle Mars.
