Fontaine Béla-Bartók

The Fontaine Béla-Bartók, also known as the Cristaux fountain, rises from a mosaic base as a series of sharp, polished steel forms. Sculpted by Jean-Yves Lechevallier in nineteen eighty-one, the fountain is designed as a physical interpretation of the tonal harmonies found in the music of Hungarian composer Béla Bartók. It sits within the Square Béla-Bartók, a garden established the same year to serve the modern high-rise buildings of the Front de Seine district.
