Villa La Roche

Villa La Roche sits at the end of the Square du Docteur Blanche, recognizable as a stark, white, geometric composition of intersecting volumes. Built between nineteen twenty-three and nineteen twenty-five, the villa was a commission for the Swiss banker and art collector Raoul La Roche. It represents one of the earliest full-scale applications of the architect Le Corbusier’s five points of a new architecture, featuring an open floor plan, a free facade, long ribbon windows, a rooftop garden, and structural support provided by thin reinforced concrete pilotis.
