Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil

The Jardin des Serres d’Auteuil is distinguished by its grand, turquoise-blue cast iron greenhouses that form a sprawling complex on the edge of the Bois de Boulogne. These structures, designed by the architect Jean-Camille Formigé, were built between eighteen ninety-five and eighteen ninety-eight at the height of a nineteenth-century passion for winter gardens. The site itself dates back much further, originating as a botanical garden established in seventeen sixty-one during the reign of Louis the Fifteenth.
