The Petite Ceinture du seize arrondissement is a stretch of former railway line characterized by a rustic, unpaved nature trail where wild flora and graffiti have reclaimed what was once an industrial link. Originally constructed in the eighteen fifties as part of a thirty-two kilometer circular railway, this line was designed by Napoleon the Third and Baron Haussmann to transport freight and troops to the city's fortifications.
