The Villa Cook stands out as a smooth, white parallelepiped raised on concrete stilts, known as pilotis, that define its modernist profile. Completed in nineteen twenty-seven, this house at number six rue Denfert-Rochereau was designed by Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret for the American journalist William Cook and his wife Jeanne. It is recognized as one of the first structures to fully implement Le Corbusier's five points of modern architecture, which include the free facade, the open floor plan, and a rooftop garden meant to provide views toward the nearby Bois de Boulogne.
