The Bibliothèque Marmottan in Boulogne-Billancourt is a specialized research institution housed within a private villa. You can identify the site by its Italian-style garden and the architecture of the villa, which Paul Marmottan commissioned between eighteen ninety and nineteen twenty to hold his extensive collection. The building remains a rare example of a library designed as an organic unit, where the interior decor, featuring Empire-style furniture and mahogany, was specifically created to complement the thousands of books and prints kept inside.
