The Hôtel Mezzara at sixty rue Jean de La Fontaine stands out for its facade of pale silico-limestone brick, accented by restrained cut stone and intricate ironwork shaped like thorns and flowers. Built in nineteen ten and nineteen eleven by Hector Guimard, this private mansion was designed for Paul Mezzara, a textile industrialist and lace designer. The two men, who served together as vice-presidents of the Society of Decorator Artists, envisioned the house as both a family residence and a showroom for Mezzara’s delicate fabrics.
