Grand Rex

The Grand Rex is marked by its massive Art Deco corner tower and the large, rotating sign on its roof that spells out the three letters, REX. Opened on December eighth, nineteen thirty-two, the building was the ambitious project of film distributor Jacques Haïk. He worked with French architect Auguste Bluysen and American designer John Eberson to create a cinema that would bring the grandeur of American movie palaces to Paris.
