The Cours de l'Intendance is a wide, pedestrian-friendly avenue distinguished by its grand eighteenth-century limestone mansions and high-end storefronts. It links the Place de la Comédie to the Place Gambetta, serving as a primary artery within the city's Golden Triangle. Originally, this path followed a defensive ditch located outside the medieval city walls, which had been excavated along an ancient Roman decumanus road.
