The Église Saint-Pierre stands out for its ornate Gothic façade, which rises abruptly from the narrow lanes of the oldest part of the city. Built primarily during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries, the church occupies land that once served as an ancient Gallo-Roman port. Its location near the former Devèze stream and the Garonne River linked it to the city's earliest merchant life, serving a parish populated by mariners, craftsmen, and notables.
