Le Bar à Vin occupies the ground floor of the Maison du Vin de Bordeaux, a flatiron-shaped building from the eighteenth century situated directly across from the Grand Théâtre. This site functions as the headquarters for the Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux, the official organization representing the regional wine industry. The bar was renovated in two thousand six by architect Françoise Bousquet, who blended neoclassical elements with a contemporary aesthetic to create a space dedicated to showcasing Bordeaux wines to the public.
