The Shri Dharmaraya Swamy Temple in Nagarathpete is distinguished by a colorful, ornate gopuram, or monumental entrance tower, that rises above the surrounding dense market streets. Believed to be over eight hundred years old, it predates the founding of the city of Bengaluru itself. The temple is a rarity in India, as it is dedicated to the five Pandava brothers and their consort, Draupadi, from the epic Mahabharata.
