Sassoon Dock Clock Tower

The entrance to Sassoon Dock is marked by a distinctive gateway dominated by a clock tower with arched openings and contrasting stonework. Built on reclaimed land in eighteen seventy-five, this structure serves as the historic portal to what was the first commercial wet dock in Bombay. The clock face high above the entrance, which bears a plaque reading eighteen seventy-one, connects the site to the maritime ambitions of nineteenth-century India.
