The Jehangir Art Gallery is defined by a large, wavy cantilevered entrance of concrete that extends out to greet the street. Built in nineteen fifty-two and designed by architect Durga Bajpai, it was one of the city's earliest concrete structures. The gallery was founded by Sir Cowasji Jehangir, a prominent industrialist and philanthropist, as a memorial to his son who had passed away in London eight years earlier.
