Rajabai Clock Tower

The Rajabai Clock Tower rises two hundred eighty feet above the University of Mumbai campus, its buff-colored Kurla stone exterior blending Venetian and Gothic architectural styles. Designed by the English architect Sir George Gilbert Scott, who never traveled to India to oversee his creation, the structure was completed in eighteen seventy-eight. Its presence in the Fort area was once unrivaled in height, making it a prominent feature of the city skyline for decades.
