The New Customs House is a massive, symmetrical structure characterized by its neo-classical design and reinforced concrete frame. A stately facade features rows of tall, arched windows and columns that define the building's scale within the Ballard Estate district. Architect George Wittet designed the building to occupy this reclaimed commercial area, reflecting the proportions common in early twentieth-century government architecture.
